Scott’s Testimony

boucherphoto001.jpg.w300h365MeMe1When I was a young boy, about 10 years of age, I felt Jesus Christ calling me to surrender my life to him. I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and was then baptized that evening. From that time on I continued to grow, but not spiritually. I had no one to show me how to walk in the victory with Christ. Therefore, my life consisted of succumbing to peer pressure, constantly searching for my purpose and significance in life, as do so many teenagers.

Speaker6Football and lifting weights seemed to bring me more fulfillments, but still I was never really satisfied. After graduating from college I had the opportunity to play professional football and that seemed to bring me closer to what I thought I was searching for in my life. Even though I was successful as the world counts success; fame, fortune, power, and pleasure, I still had an empty feeling deep inside.

God brought me to a place in my life where I was totally dependent on him. At this point, I understood what it meant to unconditionally surrender my life to Jesus Christ and to allow God to direct and guide my life. The purpose I was searching for in life was complete when I realized my true identity in Christ. He is my life!

The emptiness in my heart was gone! God created me to glorify Him, to love Him and other, to rejoice in Him, lead others to Jesus Christ, and because of the struggle in my own spiritual growth, He has given me an intense desire to teach other believers how to walk in victory through Him.
